Newry’s new railway station is on track to open to the public in early September following an extensive £14.6 million project.

On opening, there will be new access roads into the new station and a park and ride site. Redevelopment work on Newry’s new railway station began in February 2008. Northern Ireland Railways passenger numbers have grown by 60% since 2002.

The station benefits from the Enterprise service linking Belfast and Dublin. Plans to increase the service to one train an hour in both directions could benefit Newry still further.
