Virgin hit the top

Virgin Trains has recorded its best ever train performance on its West Coast franchise,that it took over in March 1997,with 93.4% of trains arriving on time at their destination in the four weeks ending 17th October.

This beats the previous record in May 2006,when 91.3% of trains were recorded as arriving on time.Since taking over the franchise the number of passengers using Virgin Trains has jumped from 13.6 million to 22.5 million and 50% more trains now run on weekdays compared to 1997.

Chief Executive of Virgin Trains Tony Collins said “It’s great news for our customers and staff that we have our best punctuality ever at 93.4 percent.”
