Transport for London’s extension of Oyster PAYG to the full national rail network in London is expected to be launched next January. This forms part of TfL’s £40 million upgrade of the Oyster system. The DfT ‘Letters of Direction’ have been sent,in draft form,to train operators for their approval.
Equipment for Oyster PAYG has been installed at 212 stations,156 stations have the equipment already commissioned, with only 15 stations left that are still awaiting work to commence. The delay is mainly due to awaiting listed building consent.
