First Great Western celebrate 175th anniversary of the Great Western Railway

First Great Western has marked the 175th anniversary of the Great Western Railway by painting 57604 Pendennis Castle in Great Western Railway colours.

The locomotive, that normally works FGW’s sleeper services between London Paddington and Penzance, was unveiled at Didcot Railway Centre, which is home to steam locomotive Pendennis Castle.

First Great Western say that 57604 will spend this week working empty sleeper stock between Old Oak Common and London Paddington, with a view to it working the sleeper service next week.
