Better access for Hooton passengers

Passengers using Hooton station are set to benefit from a £2.5m package of improvements to the station.

The work, which is being carried out by J Murphy and Sons, will be completed by May 2011 and will provide the station with an obstacle free, accessible route to and between platforms. Enhancements being made at the station include 3  new lifts, 2 main footbridger spans and associated staircases. These will be lifted into position using a series of 29 hour possessions during September and October.

The old structure will be removed next February.
