EMT fuel trial success
East Midlands Trains has announced that their trial, the first of its kind in the UK, of the innovative DiesoLIFT™ 10 fuel additive has demonstrated a 4.4% improvement in fuel economy, estimated to save nearly 350,000 litres of fuel per year.
The trial, which will continue until November, has involved 89 vehicles comprising class 153, 156 and 158 trains. After November East Midlands Trains will look to roll out the product to their HSTs and Meridians.
DiesoLIFT™ 10 is mixed in with the diesel at Nottingham depot, where most of the trains on EMT’s local services are fuelled.
