Public inquiry to be held into Evergreen 3

A public inquiry is to be held in the autumn regarding Chiltern’s Evergreen 3 project, which will see a new train service introduced between Oxford and London Marylebone.

The inquiry, which opens on November 2nd, will look at any outstanding objections to the rail improvement scheme between Bicester and Oxford and aim to resolve them.

“An Inquiry is standard practice for projects like Evergreen 3, even though there has been overwhelming support for the scheme” commented Allan Dare, Chiltern’s Strategic Development Manager. “Meanwhile we are still talking to objectors to try and resolve any outstanding issues prior to the public inquiry,” he said.

A Statement of Case, for the Bicester to Oxford route, is to be submitted by Chitern Railways on August 6th.
