Spooktacular Halloween Tram Rides at Crich Tramway Village

The vintage trams will be taking visitors on spooktacular rides as Crich Tramway Village stages its one night only Starlight Halloween event on Saturday 30th October, when the Tramway Village will stay open until 9.00pm.

Children dressed in Halloween costume will be admitted free of charge and there’ll be a Halloween atmosphere as night falls on the period street setting at the Village with ghosts, witches and skeletons hiding in the trees and a special tram decked in Halloween illuminations.

Spectacular lighting effects will illuminate the whole Village, the Bridge and immediate woodland and there will even be spooky images flying across the quarry face.

One of the highlights of this year’s event is the spooky torch lit walk down the Woodland Walk and Sculpture Trail where wizards, spirits and witches will weave a magic tale. There’ll also be Folk Dancers to entertain visitors and a spooky themed menu in Rita’s Tearooms.

Event Organiser Andrew Willis said, “It is a special sight to see the Village lit up by the spectacular multi-coloured lights and other effects. Our vintage trams will be running during the night, and the woodland walk sculptures illuminated by flickering flame are a really unique display! This is a not-to-be-missed event for children of all ages.”

The Halloween Spooktacular will run for one night only on Saturday 30th October. The café, shop, exhibition hall, workshop gallery and indoor play area will also be open until late.  Last admission is at 6.00pm.  Children in Halloween costume will be admitted free of charge.

Crich Tramway Village is situated near Matlock, Derbyshire, eight miles from M1 junction 28.  See www.tramway.co.uk for more information.
