South Korea looks at rail link with Japan and China

A feasibility study has been launched by South Korea to explore the possibility of establishing a rail link with China and Japan. The results from the study are expected to be presented to the transport ministry by the end of this year.

However, even if the report states that constructing connecting tunnels is possible, the project may not go ahead for many years. Apart from the huge funds needed to support such a project, South Korea would need to get the agreement of China and Japan before work could commence.
