Record breaking run for First Great Western

Yesterday a First Great Western HST broke the record for the fastest journey time between Plymouth and London Paddington.

Covering the non-stop journey in just 2 hours and 43 minutes, 17 minutes faster than the previous record, the run was held to draw attention to the rail company’s new early morning Paddington to Exeter service, which will connect with Plymouth services, commencing in December.

West Country business leaders welcomed the move that will allow people to travel from London and carry out a full day’s work in Plymouth.

I live in Plymouth but often travel up to London for business meetings. I usually have to travel up the night before to get to my meetings on time but this would enable me to leave from Plymouth in the morning and still get to my meeting on time!
    Wonderful!
