National Railway Museum to host its first cross-site steam event

Over the weekend of 24th and 25th september the NRM is planning to host its first ever cross-site event featuring both York and Shildon.

A steam shuttle, launched the previous weekend, will operate between the two locations. For the steam event this will be hauled by 70013 Oliver Cromwell, but the shuttles for the previous weekend will be hauled by 4472 Flying Scotsman.

Locomotives already confirmed to be on site at York include 5690 Leander and a Black 5. It is also hoped to have 6201 Princess Elizabeth in attendance.

At Shildon it is hoped to have 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley, LSWR Greyhound 120 and 3440 City of Truro on display.

Steam hauled passenger rides will be available at both York and Shildon.
